Hotel Videography: Capturing the Luxury of The Angel at Hetton!
Hotel Videography: Capturing the Luxury of The Angel at Hetton!
We’ve recently completed another series of bespoke social media reels for the Michelin-starred The Angel at Hetton in Yorkshire, creating a collection of short-form films designed to showcase the character, food, accommodation and experience of this much-loved property.
One of the latest reels focuses on the hotel’s luxury bedrooms, highlighting the details that make staying at The Angel at Hetton such a special experience.
From beautiful freestanding copper baths and spacious walk-in showers to the stunning views across the Yorkshire countryside, the rooms offer plenty of visual inspiration. Our job was to capture these details in a way that feels authentic to the property rather than simply documenting the space.
MAKING NATURAL LIGHT PART OF THE STORY
Whenever possible, we prefer to work with natural light, particularly when filming luxury hotels.
At The Angel at Hetton, the Yorkshire light worked beautifully with the interiors. Rather than flooding the rooms with artificial lighting, we allowed daylight to become part of the visual story.
Soft light coming through the windows helped reveal the textures, colours and character of each room, while the changing light across the Yorkshire landscape added atmosphere and a genuine sense of place.
For hotel videographers, understanding how to use natural light can be just as important as the camera and lenses being used. The right light can transform an interior, creating footage that feels warm, cinematic and inviting.
Most importantly, it helps potential guests imagine themselves actually being there.
CREATING SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT THAT SELLS THE EXPERIENCE
Hotel social media reels need to do more than simply show a room. They need to create a feeling.
Someone scrolling through Instagram, TikTok or YouTube Shorts may only spend a few seconds watching, so the opening frames need to immediately communicate something about the property.
For this reel, we concentrated on the elements that make the rooms memorable — the copper baths, walk-in showers, luxurious finishes and views — using movement and detail to create a sense of discovery.
This is an important part of our approach to hotel videography. We don’t believe social media content should simply be an afterthought from a larger hotel film. It should be considered from the beginning of the production and filmed specifically for the way people consume content on their phones.
BESPOKE HOTEL VIDEOGRAPHY FOR EVERY PROPERTY
Every hotel has its own personality, and our approach reflects that.
The Angel at Hetton has a very different character from a large international luxury resort or a contemporary city hotel. Its Yorkshire setting, Michelin-starred restaurant, intimate atmosphere and individual bedrooms all contribute to its identity.
Our role as hotel videographers is to understand those characteristics and translate them into visual content.
That means looking beyond the obvious shots and asking what will make someone stop scrolling, what will make them want to explore the hotel further and, ultimately, what might influence them to book.
BUILDING A LIBRARY OF HOTEL CONTENT
One of the biggest advantages of creating a series of social media reels during a hotel shoot is the amount of content that can be generated from a relatively focused production.
Alongside the main reels, we can capture additional B-roll, room details, lifestyle moments, food, architecture and the surrounding destination.
This gives hotels a library of content that can be used across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and other digital marketing channels.
For hotel marketing teams, one well-planned shoot can provide content that continues working long after the cameras have left the property.
HOTEL VIDEOGRAPHERS FOR LUXURY HOTELS
At Factor Fifty Film, we specialise in hotel videography and luxury hotel video production for hotels, resorts and hospitality brands across the UK and internationally.
Our focus is on creating cinematic content that feels authentic to each property, while making sure the footage is also practical for modern hotel marketing.
The latest series for The Angel at Hetton is a great example.
Sometimes you don’t need to overcomplicate the story.
A beautiful bedroom.
A freestanding copper bath.
A luxurious walk-in shower.
Natural Yorkshire light.
And a view worth waking up for.
That can be more than enough to make someone want to experience the hotel for themselves.
