Here’s a quick breakdown of what we’ve found works best for each channel:

Instagram (Feed & Stories)

  • Feed Posts (Reels): 9:16 vertical format

  • Stories: 9:16 vertical format

  • Resolution: 1080 x 1920

  • Why it works: Instagram prioritises vertical content that takes up the full screen. Viewers expect snappy, polished visuals that grab attention quickly—especially in the hospitality sector where “scroll-stopping” visuals drive engagement.

YouTube

  • Brand Films / Longer Videos: 16:9 landscape (standard HD or 4K)

  • YouTube Shorts: 9:16 vertical format

  • Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (HD), 3840 x 2160 (4K)

  • Why it works: YouTube is still the best platform for long-form brand storytelling. Your main hotel brand video belongs here in full cinematic glory, but short vertical teasers also help attract attention via Shorts.

TikTok

  • Format: 9:16 vertical

  • Resolution: 1080 x 1920

  • Why it works: TikTok thrives on vertical content with authentic, energetic storytelling. For hotels, this could be short behind-the-scenes clips, fun staff intros, or 15-second guest experience moments.

LinkedIn

  • Format: 1:1 square or 4:5 vertical for feed videos

  • Resolution: 1080 x 1080 (square), 1080 x 1350 (vertical)

  • Why it works: While not traditionally known for video, LinkedIn is becoming increasingly visual. Use it for recruitment videos, behind-the-scenes team culture content, and sustainability messages.

Hotel Website / Digital Ads

  • Main video format: 16:9 landscape or full cinematic (see below)

  • Why it works: Visitors to your website are looking for confidence and clarity. A strong hotel brand video gives them an emotional hook, especially when paired with an intuitive booking journey.

Most of our main hotel brand videos are shot in 16:9 landscape, which is the industry standard for websites, YouTube, and TV screens.

However, for hotels looking to elevate their brand and create a true film-like experience, we also offer full cinematic formats. These videos are shot on our high-end cinema cameras (such as the RED Digital Cinema or Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro) and edited in a 2.39:1 widescreen ratio—the same format used in Hollywood films.
